Diploma courses:
1. Diploma in Theology:
The One year-Six Months MOMBI Diploma in Theology programe is designed for people wishing to experience theological education in a substantial and structured way.
Most students do this program part-time, but it can be a full-time intramural course of study. Some students will take the Diploma program simply for personal enrichment. Others entering the program may have thoughts of continuing their theological education in other directions later. Occasional students will find the Diploma program a positive way to get their start in theological education.
Admission Requirements
Those who have an interest in Theology, but do not hold a primary degree or equivalent qualification, may be considered for entry to the Diploma in Theology.
The Diploma in Theology Certificate will be awarded upon completion of the following programs of study:
* History of the Bible- O/T and N/T.
* Chapters and Verses
* Biblical Versions and Translations.
* The books of the Bible - Old Testament.
* New Testament- Origin. (full note).
* The Author - Date of Composition, Place, and Language.
* Books of the New Testament.
* The historical Jesus of Nazareth.
* Biographical Notices Of The Apostles
* The history of the early Christian church
* The Biographical Notes Of The MAGI.
* THE STAR.
* The Angel.
* Pentecostalism - History.
* Christian Eschatology.
* Theology of Orthodox Churches
* Etymology .
* The Apocalypse.
* Philosophy of God
* Spirituality and Mysticism
* Ecclesiology 2. DIPLOMA IN PASTORAL STUDIES
Both diplomas follow the same academic programme, and are awarded on the successful completion of one year's full-time study. Through participation, reflection and practical experience, the programmes aim to prepare students for the various aspects of pastoral ministry.
Requirements:
DIPLOMA IN PASTORAL STUDIES
Those who have an interest in pastoral ministry but do not hold a primary degree or equivalent qualification may be considered for entry to the Diploma in Pastoral Studies.
HIGHER DIPLOMA IN PASTORAL STUDIES
A degree in Theology or a primary degree with a major Theology component or an equivalent qualification with experience in pastoral ministry is required. Students who do not hold a degree with a theological component are required to take extra courses, and pass an oral examination in Theology, while studying for the Higher Diploma in Pastoral Studies.
Programme of Study
The course places a strong emphasis on participative learning. At a personal level the course focuses on growth in self-understanding, personal, relational and spiritual development. The programme includes:
* Pastoral moral theology
* Spiritual Theology and History of the Church
* Canon law of marriage
* Dogmatic Theology ( Creation, Church, World )
* The Sacraments
* Moral Theology
* The responsible use of power in a Pastoral relationship
* Violations of professional boundaries
* Homiletics
* Preaching on liturgical and sacramental occasions celebrating Mass and the Sacraments
* Trinitarian theology
* Ecclesiology and eschatology.
There is no time limit on completion of the Diploma program
